Call for proposals
to identify good practices in engaging communities in research for implementation and in social innovation, in low- and middle-income countries
Deadline for applications: 19 February 2021 (23:59 GMT)
TDR (the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases), SIHI (the Social Innovation in Health Initiative), and WHO regional offices are pleased to issue this call for proposals to identify good practices in engaging communities in research for implementation and in social innovation, in low- and middle-income countries.
The goal of this exercise is to map current practices, identify good practices, and better understand the enabling factors and barriers in engaging communities in research and in social innovation in health. Applicants can choose to focus on one or more of the following areas with a specific focus in LMICs:
1. Identification of good practices in engaging communities in research and in social innovation in health to enhance health care delivery.
2. Identification of good practices in engaging communities in research and in social innovation in health to respond to health emergencies.
3. Involvement of community and other stakeholders in research governance, results translation and uptake
4. Mapping of Ethics Review Committee practices in relation to the engagement of communities in research to enhance health care delivery
Collaborations between institutions and innovative research methodologies are encouraged. Applications from women principal investigators are also encouraged.
The proposals should be submitted in English.
